V današnjem času se vse več ljudi spopada z duševnimi težavami, a vseeno jih je premalo, ki bi to priznali in si poiskali pomoč. Morda se kdo od vaših najbližjih spopada z resnimi duševnimi problemi, pa tega niti ne posumite. Morda imate sami depresijo, pa se tega sploh ne zavedate. Seveda ne smemo enačiti depresije s kratkoročno žalostjo. Ta s časom mine, depresija pa dolgoročno ostaja in se lahko pojavi tudi brez razloga.

 V prispevku je zbranih nekaj pokazateljev na katere bodite pozorni pri sebi in drugih.

  1. Oseba se zapira vase – osebe z depresijo ponavadi želijo ostati same v miru. Nimajo želje ali moči se spopadati z zunanjim svetom. 

  2. Zanemarjajo prijateljstva in hobije – podobno kot v prejšnji točki, se ljudje z depresijo izmikajo tudi stvarem, ki jo jih drugače delale z veseljem.

  3. Spremembe v spancu – oseba spreminja čas kdaj gre spati, kdaj se zbudi in tudi koliko časa spi. Nekateri se soočajo z nespečnostjo, drugi ravno obratno. Pogost znak je spanje čez dan.

  4. Razdražljivost – oseba se hitro razjezi in težje prenaša ljudi in neugodne situacije.

  5. Pomanjkanje/povečanje apetita – oseba morda ne more jesti ali pa svoja čustva utaplja v hrani.

  6. Pomanjkanje čustev – veliko ljudi meni, da je oseba v depresiji neprestano žalostna, vendar temu ni vedno tako. Osebe v depresiji se pogosto počutijo brez občutka oziroma čustev. Vesele stvari in dogodki jih ne razveselijo, prav tako žalostne ne razžalostijo.

  7. Občutek brezupnosti – osebe se pogosto počutijo nemočne in ne vidijo izhoda iz svoje situacije.

  8. Upadanje koncentracije in neodločnost – osebe se pogosto težje skoncentrirajo in sprejemajo pomembne odločitve, saj imajo v mislih druge probleme.

  9. Občutek ničvrednosti – osebe imajo pogosto občutek, da same niso dovolj, da vse kar naredijo ni dovolj za njih in tudi za ostale in navsezadnje, da njihovo življenje ni zadovoljivo in nikoli ne bo.

  10. Povečanje dela ali pogostejše ukvarjanje s hobiji – nasprotno od zgoraj napisanega, se nekatere osebe preveč podajo v svoje delo ali druge hobije, da bi se zamotile in prenehale misliti o svojih težavah.

  11. Pogoste misli o samomoru – osebe pogosto razmišljajo o samomoru in kaj bi to prineslo njim in njihovim najbližjim.
