VITAMINI: SADJE OKOLI SVETA
Vse kulture okoli sveta vključujejo sadje ter zelenjavo v vsakdanji jedilnik. V Sloveniji lahko gojimo jabolka, hruške, jagode, maline, borovnice itd. Poznamo tudi drugo sadje iz različnih koncev sveta, seveda zaradi uvozov, mnogo sadežev pa je nam še vedno nepoznanih. Če ste eden izmed tistih srečnežev, ki so veliko potovali, ste po vsej verjetnosti tudi že poskusili katerega od spodaj naštetih. To so različni vitamini: sadje okoli svet!
JABUTICABA
Drevo najdemo v Južni Ameriki in je zimzelena rastlina. Plod raste kar neposredno iz debla, je vijolične barve in podoben grozdju. Sadje je užitno surovo, uporablja pa se tudi za pripravo marmelade. Vsebuje močne antioksidante in protivnetne sestavine.

AKI
Izvira iz Zahodne Afrike, prepeljan pa je bil tudi na Jamajko, kjer je sedaj narodni sadež. Užiten del rastline je le rumenkasto meso, ki je vidno, ko se sadež odpre – to pomeni, da je zrel. Sadež je lahko, če ni popolnoma zrel, strupen, prav tako pa sta strupena tudi črno seme in olupek. Aki se uporablja predvsem v nesladkanih jedeh.

RAMBUTAN
Najdemo ga na Malajskem polotoku v Jugovzhodni Aziji. Ime izhaja iz malajskega imena rambut, ki pomeni ”lasje’‘, saj iz sadeža rastejo lasem podobni zeleni izrastki. Sadež je podoben ličiju, užitno je belo meso, ko ga olupimo. Je poln vitamina C in mangana, prav tako pa vsebuje kalcij, železo in kalij.
AGUAJE
Sadež je pokrit z rdečimi luskami in je poln vitaminov C in A (vsebuje ga več kot špinača in korenje), pomagal pa naj bi tudi pri zmanjšanju učinkov v menopavzi. Najdemo ga v Južni Ameriki. Po okusu je sladko-kisel.
